Huanglong Cave is located in Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot Scenic Spot, the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It is an organic part of the world natural heritage and the world geological park of Zhangjiajie. It is a typical karst landform. It is listed as a member of the international tourism cave, one of the 35 top scenic spots in China, one of the first batch of AAAA tourist areas (spots) in China, one of the first batch of well-known brands of Chinese tourism, the best tourist attractions in Hunan Province, a famous trademark in Hunan Province, and one of Zhangjiajie tourism boutique lines. It enjoys the reputation of peerless wonders. In 2005, it was selected as the "Most Beautiful Tourist Cave in China". In 2009, Huanglong Cave was selected as the "Most Beautiful Tourist Cave in China".
Huanglong Cave, with its three-dimensional cave structure, spacious Dragon Palace Hall, tens of thousands of stalagmites, towering cave waterfalls, and a combination of water and land tourist routes, has formed a distinctive tourist cave both domestically and internationally. In Huanglong Cave, there are caves and rivers. Various cave landscapes, such as stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone flowers, stone curtains, stone branches, stone pipes, stone pearls, and stone corals, formed by the condensation of limestone solution, are scattered throughout the cave. They are all extraordinary, like an underground "magic palace", colorful and beautiful, and are known as the "underground maze".
Huanglong Cave has premium tourism resources such as a wide cave sky, deep underground rivers, suspended waterfalls, and dense stalagmites, which have high ornamental and scientific research value. Huanglong Cave, with its vast scale, comprehensive content, and beautiful scenery, almost covers all the content of "Cave Studies" and is the "all-around champion" of world karst caves.
The iconic attraction inside the cave - the Dinghai Needle
The "Ding Hai Shen Zhen" is a tall and slender stalagmite in the cave, with a very peculiar shape. It is 19.2 meters high, thick at both ends and thin in the middle, with a diameter of only 10 centimeters at its thinnest point. The "Ding Hai Shen Needle" grows on a collapsed slope and is the tallest stalagmite in Huanglong Cave. Cave experts estimate that it took at least nearly 200000 years for it to grow to its current height.
The upper end of the "Dinghai Shen Needle" is still 6 meters away from the top of the cave, and there is still dripping water at the top. It is still in the process of growth and development, and it is estimated that it will take 60000 years to "stand tall and strong".
Hallelujah Concert Hall
The Haliluya Concert Hall in Huanglong Cave is located at the entrance of Huanglong Cave Ecological Square. The famous painting master Huang Yongyu wrote the name of the concert hall. The concert hall is adjacent to Huanglong Cave, backed by the lush vegetation of Huanglong Cave Mountain, with a green area of 3000 square meters. It is the largest single sloping green roof in China and the only ecological theater in the world.
The concert hall stage and audience seats are located 6.5 meters below the horizon, connected to a branch of Huanglong Cave.
The best time to visit: Huanglong Cave is suitable for all seasons, and the best time to visit is from March to November every year. Spring, summer, and autumn are the best seasons. As the temperature inside Huanglong Cave is slightly lower than outside, it is recommended not to go during very cold seasons.
