On November 1st, 2019, I came to Zhangjiajie for tourism, which I have admired for a long time. Zhangjiajie is the first national forest park in China. The scenic area is lined with strange peaks and rocks, creating picturesque scenery that is overwhelming. Riding the Hundred Dragon Heavenly Ladder to the Yuan Family Realm, every step is a beautiful scenery, like a fairyland. The towering Qiankun Pillar (the prototype of Avatar's Floating Mountain) stands tall, and the world's first bridge builds a skybridge between two peaks, making people linger and forget to leave.
Stop and watch in front of the 100 yuan banknote attraction, where the towering stone walls resemble the portraits of the four great figures in the fourth set of RMB 100 yuan bills, making one marvel at the incredible craftsmanship of nature. Needless to say, take photos and videos quickly to leave a lasting memory!
When I came back to organize the photos, I was surprised to find that there was a scenery in this place! Oh, to be precise, there is a scenery beside it. On the left side of the portraits of the Four Great Men, there is actually a natural Buddha statue, facing the Four Great Men. See the figure below.
The Buddha statue has upright facial features, kind eyebrows, and good eyes. The bun on the top of the head and the white hair between the eyebrows are complete, clear, and natural, without any marks of axes or chisels. The small stone on the left seems to be raised with its left arm, as if greeting the Four Great Men, natural and lively. If the stone walls of the Four Great Men are cool, realistic, and lifelike, then this Buddha statue is both in form and spirit, lifelike!
Another panoramic view.
Looking at the photo, I couldn't help but wonder: this landscape is so close to the hundred yuan banknote landscape, facing each other across the air, complementing each other beautifully. It should be a unique scenery in Zhangjiajie. Why wasn't it marked on the scenic guide map? The tour guide didn't mention it either? I searched online for 'Zhangjiajie Buddha Statue' but did not see any related reports. Is it an accidental phenomenon caused by lighting problems? Looking back at the photos again, I took 5 photos of the same scene and two videos, and the Buddha statues are all clear and distinct.
The following picture is from another angle, and the Buddha statue is still clearly visible. Just a slight change in demeanor, as if hands were clasped together, eyes lowered, adding a touch of dignity and authority.
Can this kind of image only be produced under certain time periods and lighting conditions? Still awaiting expert correction. If that's the case, then this spectacle is even more worth looking forward to by tourists.
It's also possible that others already knew about it, but it wasn't announced yet, or it was announced and I didn't know. Anyway, this is the most important takeaway from my trip to Zhangjiajie this time.
