[Preparation for Moving Forward]

Although I have some travel experience, I have always played the role of following a large army and have not made my own itinerary. My partner for this trip, Miss L, is also someone who goes with the flow haha. I will make the itinerary and thank her for her trust. After making a simple itinerary and booking train tickets and hotels for the day, we set off. It was quite rough, so our itinerary was full of surprises and small jokes later on.

【 Itinerary 】

Day 1: Guangzhou Zhangjiajie

Day 2: Tianmen Mountain

Day 3: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Day 4: Huangshizhai - Fenghuang Ancient City

Day 5: Jishou - Guangzhou

About Tour Guide

This itinerary was planned and arranged by Zhangjiajie Xiaopeng's tour guide, which saved us a lot of trouble. He also showed great concern for us along the way, taking various photos and providing excellent service. So, let's help him advertise! If you want to travel independently to Zhangjiajie, you can refer to it in the comments section

First Encounter with Zhangjiajie

After sitting on the train for more than ten hours, wearily dragging my suitcase out of the train station, we were greeted by the rain from Zhangjiajie. As soon as we found the hotel, we immediately ordered a meal, and the delivery to the room door was also impressive. After dinner, I thought of taking a rest and going to glass walkway in the afternoon, but I didn't sleep until the afternoon. I thought I would go out in the evening. Miss L was too lazy to go out, so she ordered takeout and went to Tianmen Mountain early tomorrow morning. The scenery I saw on the train was very beautiful, and I had more expectations for Zhangjiajie.

Surrounded by mountains - Tianmen Mountain

According to online travelogues, one needs to wake up very early to buy tickets to Tianmen Mountain. My friends I met on the train also said the same thing, but I still asked the innkeeper, who said it's not necessary to be so early. Nowadays, student tickets can be purchased at any time. After listening to the boss's words, we leisurely left the house at 8:30, had breakfast and bought some dry food. It was only 9 o'clock when we arrived at Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area by taxi (we live near the train station, which is very close to Tianmen Mountain, and the bus station is also nearby to go to the forest park, which I personally think is very convenient to live there). We didn't have to queue up and bought tickets for the A line (cable car up the mountain, taking the car down the mountain). Queuing up to take the cable car up the mountain was like exhausting all my patience. We waited in line for almost two hours, with long queues inside and outside.

After waiting in line for over two hours, we finally got on the cableway. The cableway had eight people per box, and as soon as the door opened, a couple immediately sat on one side. At first, I didn't understand, but when I twisted my neck to see the scenery, I finally realized that it was best to sit on the same side as the direction of the cableway, otherwise you would have to twist your neck to watch. Moreover, the cableway was quite slow to climb. It's still raining lightly today, which is completely opposite to the weather forecast we checked before our trip, and the road surface is also a bit slippery. Knocking on the blackboard: It's very cold on the mountain, I suggest not wearing a skirt, it's so cold that it's flying.

There are many tour groups in the scenic area, and we followed them randomly. Have you ever done a strategy before, but when you came back, you found that you haven't been to many places.

I may have gone to a fake Tianmen Mountain

Strolling around casually

When you come to the glass walkway, you only need to buy 5 tickets instead of shoe covers. I also collapsed when my shoe covers got wet during the rain that day. There were many people, and I was almost pushed past. The wind was strong, so I finally took a photo and left

I forgot the name of this elevator, it's long and cold inside. After leaving, it will be Tianmen Cave.

I'm quite excited to come to Tianmen Cave. I came here to see this natural and magical cave.

The middle of this staircase is under renovation, and there are only narrow walkways on both sides of the staircase, which is a bit regrettable.

Take an eco-friendly car down the mountain. Nine bends and eighteen twists, I have to say that the driver's skills are really good. Halfway down the mountain, we will stop to change trains. For those who get carsick, they can rest for a while before taking a ride down the mountain. We also took two tourist photos here.

On the train to Zhangjiajie, the elder sister on the other side is from Zhangjiajie. When we talked, she suggested that we go to Tianmen Mountain, visit the Grand Canyon when we have time, go to the forest park without having to go, and have a big bowl of rice that is very affordable and delicious to eat. After visiting Tianmen Mountain, I met a young man from Shanghai and decided to travel together and have dinner together. When I told the driver about going to eat a big bowl of rice, he was a bit puzzled and asked why we went to eat a big bowl of rice. I replied that it was recommended by someone else, and he replied that the big bowl of rice was eaten by workers on the construction site, equivalent to boxed meals. I looked confused, and then he recommended us to go to a store and eat something like the Three Color Pot. I thought the taste was okay, it wasn't very delicious.

Forest Park: A Park on the Feet

We only plan to play in the forest park for one and a half days, and we have set off according to the route planned by our boss. Due to the tight schedule, we had to give up Tianzishan. The boss said that if we arrived early in the morning, we could still go, but since we only arrived around 10 o'clock, we had to give up. The regrettable part of this trip is here. If I had known, I would have arranged more time here, but that's all for later.

Our original plan was not to come here, but a friend we met said it was worth visiting. We quickly changed our itinerary, and it was indeed good.

I personally think it's a must visit forest park. I entered directly from the entrance of Jinbian Creek, so the route starts from Jinbian Creek and goes all the way to Tianbo Mansion. As soon as I entered the Golden Whip Creek, I saw those cool green trees that were very comfortable to describe. I'm like a splashing monkey, looking around and playing with the water in the creek. The creek is shallow, clean, but cool

A friendly little brother helped us take tourist photos

{data:{has_more:true,html:

Touch the copper coins and treasures, my financial luck must be very good this year

This is the outdoor filming location for "Journey to the West". Listening to the tour guide's introduction, I couldn't tell that the mountain was Tang Sanzang's

As you walk, you can see the monkey. Miss L had been looking forward to seeing the monkey before she arrived, and when she saw the monkey, she stepped forward and took pictures vigorously. I was still a little scared not to be so close. So the following pictures of cute little monkeys were all taken by Miss L, in fact, the vast majority of this travelogue was taken by Miss L using her little phone.

A Blood and Tears History of Over Two Hours

Before going to the forest park, we discussed the route with the boss and learned that there are two ways to climb the mountain (one is to take the Bailong elevator for a few minutes to get up the mountain without much scenery, and the other is to walk up for about two hours). I refused after hearing two hours, so I discussed with my friends and chose to take the elevator. But after watching the monkey wander around casually, he asked the old man who was doing business on the roadside.

Me: Does this road lead to the backyard, sir?

Grandpa: Yes, go up here. After speaking, he also smiled a little

Our mountain climbing began inexplicably, lasting for over two hours. You read correctly that it was just over two hours. At that time, I didn't know how to crawl, and when I found out, I could only grit my teeth and crawl. Fortunately, we were all able to crawl haha. It was very hard to see friends with children and parents on the road. But we encountered an old lady and her daughter who crawled with us to the backyard, which was also impressive.

After a long climb, watching the tourists descending the mountain, the following conversation emerged.

Me: How long have you been climbing

Tourist A: Over an hour

Me: Ah, it's still so long

Tourist B: How long did you climb?

Me: More than an hour

But along this journey, there are places like small shops where you can eat and rest. After drying this cucumber, continue climbing (the cucumber has the highest appearance rate on the road, and the boss said that the locals love it because it quenches thirst and carries hunger)

Watching flowers on the road, teasing monkeys, listening to music, and pretending to be cute are also quite fun

After crawling for over two hours, we finally arrived at the backyard. My vision suddenly broadened

After crossing attractions such as Wulong Village, we finally arrived at Tianbo Mansion, which was recommended by our previous boss.

At first, I was excited because the road up the mountain was like this. I find it very exciting

Then I was scared because I had to climb up such a steep wire road, which is not recommended for children or the elderly. What's even more deadly is

I.........

Fear of heights

Encouraged by a nearby friend, I persisted in climbing up

After climbing up, I was happy. I overcame myself and the scenery I saw was really nice. My foreign friend next to me kept saying 'amazing' and felt a sense of pride

Climbing up was to enjoy the scenery on that small spot, and I was also afraid later on

After taking two excited photos, I started to feel scared

Think about it

however

Miss L found it very exciting and even came to the viewing area below to take selfies

Regarding food

We brought a small amount of dry food and didn't eat much on the mountain, so we had some snacks. The white flower in the bowl is kudzu root powder, which costs five yuan for two bowls. It feels no different from jelly, but the sausage is really spicy

About going down the mountain

Down the mountain, hmm

We climbed happily

I also walked down the mountain

It's another hour long downhill road

When we arrived at the foot of the mountain, we met the aunt we saw at Tianbo Mansion and said to us, 'You guys came down the mountain so fast. I saw you on the cableway. Are we that fast? We're still so easy to recognize.'

I don't rule out the possibility that those two shawls may have contributed.

I just got on the last environmentally friendly car from the mountain, so lucky. Before going up the mountain, it's best to ask when the latest time to go down is. We should take the last bus around 6:30. If we can't catch up, we can only make a wild chicken truck. I heard it costs 50

When she went down the mountain, Miss L said that after climbing the mountain all day, she felt like she had free lung cleansing and made a lot of money

I silently took out my phone and turned on the pedometer. Even my phone, which usually doesn't work, has about 30000 steps left

The guy next to him said he took over 30000 steps and came back after finishing his trip to Tianmen Mountain in the morning. It's really hard not to know

But we don't regret climbing for the past two hours, and we had a great time walking and playing along the way. There are small shops along the way, and there are also people carrying them up the mountain, and the prices are quite expensive (climbing alone can be tiring). It's also great to tease squirrels, see monkeys, listen to music, and chat with other tourists along the way.

Huangshizhai: A Different Glass Cableway

I wanted to go to Phoenix in the afternoon, so I only had time in the morning and chose to take the cableway up and down the mountain. The day before I came, I heard from the boss that there is a glass cable car (the box under which I ride the cable car is transparent), but it is very rare and I need to wait. There were fewer people in the morning, so we waited. I have also taken a cableway at Tianmen Mountain, but it is the first time that the bottom is made of glass. It is still terrifying to sit on top and see the bottom, but it is worth a try.

I looked at the Tianshan Mountains all day yesterday, and compared to what I saw at Tianbo Mansion yesterday, the ones here are more detailed

Capture a little squirrel. It's strange that the squirrel doesn't eat bread. It likes to eat harder things like potato chips, but it's really cute when eating

When I was in the Echo Wall, I had a funny version of shouting mountains with Miss L. Later, when I climbed to the front garden, I heard other tourists shouting haha

Phoenix Ancient City: During the day, it understands the darkness of the night

I arrived in Phoenix around the afternoon. There were relatively few Phoenix people during the day, and I was quite disappointed that I didn't have the beauty in the photo. The innkeeper came to pick us up and on our way to the inn, there were also houses under construction. The narrow road made it even more difficult to walk, and when we returned to our room, we found it nice and beautiful. I have discussed tomorrow's itinerary with Miss L. It will be around 7 o'clock when we leave. I consulted with the innkeeper about the bonfire party and learned that it will start at 7 pm, but there will be a car to pick us up and drop us off at Nanhuamen in advance. We missed it beautifully. So I went out with Miss L to explore the night view and met an old man who enthusiastically introduced us to the Phoenix Hotel. There was a performance in the border town, but it was about to start when we arrived there. Moreover, I thought the ticket price was quite expensive, so I didn't watch it for about two hundred yuan. There was no student discount, and online booking would probably be cheaper.

The phoenix at night is definitely beautiful, with a feeling of dazzling lights. When we arrived, there were already many people taking photos.

This night

Don't be too provocative

There is a peaceful beauty on the bridge, and there are many bars by the river where singing and other activities are lively and exciting.

Sister, do you want to buy a flower wreath

Phoenix is quite commercialized, with aunties coming to ask you every few steps you take

Do you want to buy a flower wreath, little sister

Does the little girl want to wear our Miao ethnic costume for a photo

Little sister, let's make some hair

Is the little girl going to take a boat tour of the Tuojiang River

Wait, wait, wait

When we were watching the night view by the bridge, a little girl came to ask us if we wanted to buy flower garlands. We didn't really want to buy them, but Miss L joked about whether we could sell them for 5 yuan or 2 (the little girl quoted them as 10 yuan per piece), so she left. When we were taking photos, she came over again and said we could sell flower garlands for 5 yuan or 2. We were confused and took out the money to buy them.

I asked her why you came out to buy flowers?

Little girl: I came out after finishing my homework

I said to Miss L at that time, 'Beast, how could you bargain with a little girl so fiercely?'

But the next day when I came out alone, my aunt said that she didn't feel so guilty when she sold me a flower wreath for 3 yuan. Maybe the prices there were like this

We are lovely Miao girls

Since I didn't go to the bonfire party, I kept thinking about experiencing the culture of Phoenix. When I strolled along the Tuojiang River, there were many people who rented clothes to take photos. With a flash of inspiration, Miss L came up with a set by the river. I didn't bring a DSLR and the lighting was insufficient at night, so I developed the following art style. If anyone has a DSLR, they can still try wearing the following clothing to take photos.

At night, Phoenix was very lively. We wandered around and ate all the way, bought some ethnic jewelry (of course, there was bargaining, it was amazing), and also bought supper. It was almost midnight when we returned to the hotel

At six o'clock in the morning, I was awakened by the laughter downstairs. Watching Miss L sleeping soundly without affecting her at all, I quietly got up and washed up. After telling her, I went out for a walk alone and had breakfast downstairs. Guilin rice noodle I have eaten a lot, but I haven't eaten bacon. Guilin rice noodle came with a bowl of delicious food. Then I walked around Tuojiang with a deep-fried dough sticks in my mouth with the tourist group. In the morning, there were women washing clothes and people swimming by the river. Oh, there were also people washing vegetables

There are many small shops selling CDs and hand drums in Tuojiang River, and there are people playing in every hand drum shop. There's another specialty, it's that candy. We tried it and didn't buy it because we thought it didn't taste good

I found a postcard shop near Hongqiao that is quite artistic. It is located by the Tuojiang River, and you can see small boats paddling around outside the window. I stayed there with Miss L for a while and sent a few postcards

【 Tip 】

1. When going to the forest park, be sure not to carry a plastic bag in your hand. The little monkeys will go to grab the plastic bag, and it's not just a group. As someone who witnessed this scene, I was also very scared. If you bring it, you can store your luggage at the door (self storage is free for two hours, and it's 2 yuan per hour beyond the time limit, which has been tested by yourself haha).

2. Buying things can be negotiated appropriately, this inn owner's family friendly reminder haha. For example, there are many people selling shawls at the entrance of the forest park. They think it's a bit cold on the mountain and want to buy them. They bid 25 yuan per piece, and I said I bought them for 10 yuan each, which is really cost-effective. Miss L scared me when she was in Phoenix. She bought two flower garlands for five yuan, and when I heard that they were priced at 10 yuan each, she said she was just playing around and even sold them. The view from the window was very beautiful, and you could even see the cableway up to Tianmen Mountain.
