Preparation before departure; tips

I have always wanted to visit Changsha because of Hunan TV's Mango channel, because everyone agrees on the beautiful tea and culture, and because of the classic red scenic spots. Therefore, a person who loves to eat, play, and travel has embarked on a journey again.

Due to the recent pandemic and the postponement of the college entrance examination, many students have not yet taken a break, so the airfare is really not expensive. We booked the tickets on the official website three days in advance and the hotels on Ctrip (because of a sudden change in plans later, Zhangjiajie was added as a destination, and we spent a lot of money to refund the tickets, but the hotels that we booked were cancelled for free can be refunded for free)

So I must remind everyone to choose hotels that offer free cancellation, as well as hotels in Changsha. If you are a girl who loves to eat, try to choose hotels near Pozi Street or at the subway station. Don't be like me, who only chose this Xinli, News International Hotel in the May Day shopping district, but it is actually five stops away from Pozi Street. It's also super far from the subway station.

During the epidemic, airports, scenic spots and shopping malls all need to show their health codes. They should prepare them on WeChat in advance (not Alipay or the whole country! Hunan Province is a must) and wear masks, although few people really wear them on the street. If you travel by subway, you should get off the app of Changsha subway, bind it to Alipay, and pay a credit of 10 yuan in advance (click refund when you get back, which takes a long time, and you all know it). You can use Alipay or this app on the bus.

Chayan Yuese first registers a member on the official account, and then fills in the birthday on any day during the tour. She will give a free ticket to choose the most expensive point as far as possible. There has been a recharge activity recently, and I believe I won't regret not recharging as much as I did. Just recharge 200 and get 30 free. You can use it directly for ordering drinks and buying merchandise. Buy one cup and accumulate one point, because there are security checks outside the airport and at the train station, so you can replace all the points at the end.

Day1 Hunan Provincial Museum - Pozi Street

According to the travel habit of leaving early and returning late, I booked a flight after 6am. I thought there would be fewer people in the early morning during the epidemic, but there were actually quite a few people at the airport, and this flight was also quite crowded. During the epidemic, only a bottle of mineral water would be sent before takeoff on the plane.

It rained and was delayed by an hour
Nanjing is experiencing heavy rain, while Changsha has clear skies for thousands of miles

Nanjing was delayed by over an hour due to heavy rain, while Changsha has clear skies for thousands of miles. It's really hot, so it's important to take sun protection measures!

The pick-up booked on Ctrip, passing through Malanshan and Mango Terrace, can also be considered as check-in.

After resting for a while at the hotel, I started searching for food on a certain review platform and found a Sanhe noodle restaurant not far from the hotel. I followed the navigation and found that the group coupons were very cost-effective and the taste was really good. You can choose whether to make noodles or noodles, and whether to mix soup with dry ingredients. Actually, I recommend noodles more. It's really spicy. People like me who can't really eat spicy food must prepare drinks.

Because the hotel is not far from the Hunan Provincial Museum, we chose to walk directly to it. In fact, there are many electric shared bicycles on the streets of Changsha, and you can actually ride one, which is very convenient.

The basic museum of Hunan Provincial Museum is free, and flow is limited during the epidemic, so you must make an appointment on WeChat official account three days in advance!!! Then enter with SMS and ID card. If you haven't made an appointment, you can also buy tickets for the special exhibition in advance and enter directly. You can bring water during security check, but no food or sugar is allowed. But it can be stored outside. Entering the museum requires wearing a mask throughout the entire process.

To go to a city, the first thing to do is to visit the local museum. The content of Hunan Provincial Museum may not be the most exciting, but the overall layout is very good. In the end, it can be said to be the "treasure of town museums". Cowardly people should be cautious!

Of course, as a seasoned foodie, the main purpose of coming to Changsha is to eat. Super Wenheyou who came to Hisense Plaza is right next to the mall. You don't have to queue up when entering from the outside, but you need to show your health code, take your temperature, and register your information. If you are going to eat inside, you will be given a ticket. Just walk to the corresponding floor and give it to the waiter. You can do it if your seat is empty. You can also go in and take photos without eating. There are a total of six floors, and it's really shocking to travel through them in just one second. Each floor has a different style, and there are other shops inside where you can buy specialty snacks. There are even cinemas and massage parlors.

Basically, there are tea with beautiful colors everywhere, but I highly recommend those in shopping malls. They have air conditioning and seats, and the decoration is very antique. If you get tired of shopping, you can sit down and take a rest. I can be said to be a seasoned enthusiast of milk tea, but the tea has a strong tea flavor with a beautiful color. The cream on top is a unique feature that won't get greasy even if eaten directly. Also, the standard sugar is the best to drink. At first, I ordered half sugar, which was really light.

Day2 Yuelu Mountain - Hunan University - Orange Island

Today marks the start of the Red Tour, and Yuelu Mountain is also a must visit attraction. There is no need for a ticket to climb the mountain, and you can take a car, cable car, or climb up on your own. We have chosen to do a cable car, which is the simplest type of seat type cable car. Finally, someone will take a photo, 20 photos per person. Yuelu Mountain also needs to make an appointment on the official account in advance before scanning the code to enter. If there are many people buying cableway tickets at the entrance, you can go straight in. When queuing up at the cableway station, one person will line up and go buy tickets alone, which can save a lot of time because the queue takes half an hour and there is basically no one in front of the ticket office at the cableway station. You can overlook Orange Island Head from the cableway! The scenery is still very beautiful.

After reaching the mountaintop, it is recommended to go to Cha Yan Yue Se to buy drinks first, as there are few people on the mountain and we waited for a full forty minutes. After purchasing, go take photos and there is also a place to hang a love lock. Then we kept going up and chose to take a car to get off at the south gate because it was from the east gate. We originally wanted to take the slide, but there were too many people and we were too lazy to wait. Except for slide tickets, both cable cars and buses offer half price student ID cards. After taking the bus, you can directly deliver to Yuelu Academy and Aiwan Pavilion.

Then you can walk out of the south gate to Hunan University, which is also a prestigious university with a long history, and there is a large sculpture of Chairman Mao in the middle. For lunch, I chose to take a taxi to Yuxiang Chop Pepper Fish Head, which is a restaurant in the park. On a certain review, there are group coupons available, which are perfect for two or half people, and you can also add a separate dish. Spicy is really spicy, and it's really delicious. You must go check in!

You can take a taxi directly to the Orange Island Head sightseeing bus ticket office or purchase tickets directly on WeChat, but student tickets must be purchased at the window. Before departure, I ordered a cup of books and boiled fairy grass, which was plentiful and delicious. Just take the sightseeing bus directly to the big sculpture at the bottom station and take a photo, then take the bus back to the subway station.

Take the subway to Taiping Old Street. The must buy black classic Stinky tofu and the must visit Wenheyou Stinky tofu Museum are very interesting, and there are many interactive ones to play. Personally, I prefer Wen Heyou's Stinky tofu. People who don't eat it usually think it's delicious.

I don't know why big sausages are also a specialty of Changsha and are everywhere, but personally, I feel that they are not as delicious to fill my stomach. After strolling through Taiping Old Street, I decided to check in at the Chuyan Xiaoshao Huangniu Rou restaurant. I had already queued up at six o'clock, but it didn't take long to arrive. I ordered the signature Xiaoshao Huangniu Rou and pork ribs, both of which tasted great.

Day 3 Zhangjiajie

After eating and strolling around, I didn't know what to do, so I decided to go to Zhangjiajie on the spot. Everyone came, but it felt a bit regretful not to go. So that night, I refunded my original plane ticket and hotel, and booked a train ticket and a hotel in Zhangjiajie. (It's best to buy a first-class train ticket, just like a bullet train. If you don't have one, it's a very hard seat like an intercity train. It's really unbearable to sit for four hours.)

I have booked the newly opened Hilton Garden Inn, and there will also be robots delivering fruits. Breakfast is also quite abundant.

In the evening, I went to the nearby area to have three meals. Personally, I think it was average and not as stunning. Who would have thought that someone who was still leisurely drinking tea in the morning and enjoying their beauty would be eating three pots at night

Day 4 Tianmen Mountain

It may be water reversal. Zhangjiajie rainstorm warning. If it rains, you must buy raincoats and shoe covers in advance. Despite the heavy rain, the cableway and glass walkway are open. Buy tickets on Ctrip one day in advance and choose the right time. I personally recommend route A, on the Grand Cableway and under the Express Cableway. Tianmen Mountain Cableway Station is right across from the hotel. After finishing breakfast in the morning, just go directly to the automatic ticket machine and pick up the ticket with your ID card. Then you can check in directly. I saw someone say they had to queue for a long time, maybe it was heavy rain or off-season. There was really no one, it was super empty, and they went in without queuing at all.

The cableway is a direct departure from the city center, passing through a transfer station on the way. Don't get off! Then, in half an hour, go straight to the mountaintop. You can get the map over there and put on your raincoat. Because the rain is completely foggy and nothing can be seen.

We chose the east route and followed the signs. Although there would be a fork in the road, we could finally meet. We took photos of the glass walkway while walking. Five yuan per person. It's not very long. On rainy days, someone is cleaning up the accumulated water, which may be a bit slippery, but because it's all foggy, it's not scary at all. It won't be long and will be over soon.

If you still want to go up, you'll have to reach the top of the mountain because you feel there's nothing else to see. Anyway, it's all white, so you choose to go straight down the mountain. Go back down the mountain and take the same route to the downhill elevator. The seven elevators in this section are included in the ticket, and after ticket verification, you can start descending one floor at a time.

After finishing, you will reach the 999 steps of Tianmen Cave. You can climb down directly or buy a ticket to continue taking the elevator. I chose to take the elevator because I was afraid of slipping on rainy days

After completing a few more elevators, you will arrive at Tianmen Cave, where you can check in and take photos, as well as visit some shops.

Then we walked to the Tianmendong Express Cableway and officially took the cableway down the mountain.

The carriage of the express cable car is actually larger than that of the large cable car, and can accommodate many people. Because of the off-season, two people can pack one and it really arrives quickly. After getting off the car, continue walking to take the shuttle bus and then take it back to the place where you first took the cableway.

I personally think it's quite good to walk down the A line like this. We spent a total of four hours, and if it weren't raining, we would probably stay a little longer. It's really a pity. Unfortunately, the beauty is also good. The heavy rain in Zhangjiajie has left us with infinite space for imagination about Tianmen Mountain. Strolling in the clouds and setting up a fairy like mirror is also a unique experience. After dinner, I took a taxi to Zhangjiajie West Station and took a ride back to Changsha. Unfortunately, I was delayed by an hour due to the rain, and one after another.

I returned to Changsha in the evening and went to eat with Wen Heyou to make up for my wounded heart.

Day5 Pozi Street - IFS

On the last day, I went to Shufen and checked in at Huiji Powder Store. The taste was okay. The quantity is large.

Jinji Tangtuo is really delicious, even a string of five yuan is not expensive. Huangxing Square, Wuyi Square, Pozi Street, and the south entrance are all adjacent, just a walk away. I checked in at IKON on the seventh floor of IFS.

I also went to Mamakha to check in, the taste is similar to Heytea, but it's a bit cheaper.

Then I took a taxi to the airport, where Cha Yan Yue Se was only available outside of security checks. After changing all the checkpoints there, I still felt a sense of achievement. The evening flight home.

From four days and three nights to five days and four nights

Returning from Changsha, I gained six pounds and even had a plastic accent

Three cups of tea a day, holding on until I can't walk, wandering and eating until I'm exhausted, but still very happy

Celebrate that the final flight was not delayed!
