The first time I saw the short video of Tianmen Mountain from Tiktok, I thought that it was really cool to climb the ladder to the sky, and I had never climbed such a mountain before. I always felt that the mountain in Zhangjiajie was not the same as Mount Huangshan Mountain and Huashan Mountain. With a little expectation, excitement and yearning, I started my trip to Zhangjiajie with my friends in the summer vacation.
Our itinerary lasted for 6 days, with a direct flight to Zhangjiajie on the evening of August 8th, a trip to Changsha on August 12th, and a return to Shanghai by high-speed rail from Changsha on August 14th. About half a month before the trip, we started booking flights and hotels. When we thought everything was ready, we always realized that something was missing in the end. In the past, we used to book tickets for every trip the day before. However, as we were on our way to the airport by car and preparing to book tickets online, we never expected that the tickets for Tianmen Mountain would not be available until five days later, indicating that we had to buy them at least a week in advance. Regretting too late would be useless.
Tianmen Mountain has three routes: A line on the cableway, B line on the bus, cableway, C line on the bus, and bus off. Due to only purchasing one day in advance, I can only buy tickets for the C line. However, it's okay as I can experience two 99 bends. Nevertheless, the Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Cableway is over 7000 meters long, making it the world's longest high-altitude passenger cableway. It's rare to come here, and it's a bit regrettable that I didn't get a ride. I advise all friends who come to Tianmen Mountain to buy cableway tickets in advance!!! Especially during the peak summer travel season, it is essential to purchase tickets in advance! Be sure to buy tickets in advance!! Be sure to buy the ticket in advance!!!
At some point, the impression of the three words' ascending the ladder 'inexplicably became clear in my mind. It was as if coming here once provided a bridge to communicate with the heavens, freeing me from the sea of suffering and enabling me to smoothly reach another world.
Due to purchasing the C line, a tour guide contacted us the night before to arrange a meeting and collect tickets for Tianmen Mountain. The tour guide, Li Zi, was a typical Tujia girl who was enthusiastic and generous, and provided excellent explanations. After a long queue, we finally got on the bus. On the bus, everyone fastened their seat belts. As we passed the first turn, the driver, with his superb driving skills, quickly and smoothly turned 180 degrees. In an instant, the passengers in the bus let out a scream of admiration, especially the children who exclaimed, "Wow, that's really impressive. I thought to myself, the driver might still be thinking about where to go, as my true abilities have not yet been demonstrated. I sat on the side closer to the corridor, and then turned around. Although I was wearing a seat belt, I almost threw myself out of my seat. So I tightly held onto the back seat in front of me and turned around for about 20 minutes. Finally, I reached the foot of the mountain, got off the car, and the elevator came into view.
You can hike up 999 steps or take an escalator to climb up, but you have to pay for it. For me and my friends who love mountaineering, how could we possibly take an escalator? Of course, we chose to climb up.
After climbing 999 steps and reaching the entrance of the cave, I realized that it wasn't tiring to climb up! Next, we followed the guide's instructions to queue up at the automatic mountain escalator. Although it was summer vacation, not a regular holiday or Golden Week, there were still a huge number of people! We slowly moved forward and finally arrived at the entrance of the mountain crossing escalator. There were 7 sections of escalators inside, which took about ten minutes. The exit of the escalator was the top of the mountain.
We climbed 999 steps and surprisingly arrived at the top of the mountain earlier than the people in the group who took the escalator. There were too many people queuing up, and if you have good physical strength when there are many people, it is recommended to climb up. Not only can you challenge yourself, but you can also enjoy different scenery.
After a while, the tour guide met us and we chose to go first on the western route and then on the eastern route. The tour guide was a small girl who turned around and we both got lost. In addition, there were many people, so we had to explore and follow the crowd forward. We hoped that we didn't go wrong, and God still favored us. Surprisingly, we met up with the tour guide again soon. Lizi told us about the places we were going to pass by and arranged to meet at the Cherry Bay Restaurant before starting our free activities.
The most classic thing on the western route is the glass walkway, but I have to buy a pair of 5 yuan shoe covers now to walk on the glass walkway. The only feeling is that there are too many people. I rarely want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding cliffs, and I am always pushed by the people behind. There are two aunts around who have been walking close to the gable and dare not step on the glass. I am not afraid of heights. I don't think the glass walkway is so thrilling and exciting, nor do I hear tourists screaming. I feel that the glass walkway is over without walking a few steps. Maybe the expectation is too high, and I feel a little regret. I think it is not difficult, too easy. There is no challenge, but people often can't be competent, especially in the mountains.
The glass walkway ended, followed by the Ghost Valley plank road. It is said that Guiguzi had been practicing at Tianmen Mountain in those days, and I was filled with excitement when following the path of the ancestors. In addition, when passing the glass walkway, my friends and I happened to be the first people to come out of our group. Seeing that there were few people in the Ghost Valley plank road, and the road was easy to walk, I took photos while walking. I didn't know what was wrong. I only knew that there was a sudden blank in my head, and I felt dizzy, as if I could not stand. So I immediately covered my head with my hand, which was really a super pain, and immediately stopped my companion, leaned on the railing, put down his hand, and saw blood on his hand. The little friend took a piece of tissue paper to me, and I put a large amount of blood on my head, bubbling out. At that time, I thought, it was over, and I would not die here, When we changed the second piece of tissue paper, there was still a lot of blood flowing. In addition, it was painful. It was very painful, and we were almost unable to leave. The guide called the guide. The guide said that there was only an ambulance station at Li Na's villa in front of the glass walkway. Let's hurry back to that place. Looking back, we unexpectedly ran into a tree. The branches of that tree were V-shaped, and I just hit the bottom of the V-shaped. I wanted to cry. My little partner helped me all the way, and walked to the ambulance station for about 20 minutes. The doctor said that there was a cut on the scalp. Now the blood has stopped flowing, and I used iodophor to give it to After I detoxified, the doctor said that if you don't trust me, you can go to the hospital after going down the mountain.
I, who have never had any safety issues during my travels in the past, stumbled at Tianmen Mountain, and it was also the first time in my life that I truly suffered a head injury and blood loss. Staying at Tianmen Mountain was truly an extraordinary experience! After drinking some water and replenishing some energy, we decided not to go down the mountain or to continue completing the mountain top loop. So I helped my friend and walked carefully forward, after all, it was a scalp injury, not a leg injury, and we could still continue walking. When we arrived at the gathering place, even the tour guide was surprised that we were not the last to come, because after all, we had returned in the middle. The next eastern route will be relatively easier, but I don't have time to enjoy too many beautiful scenery, after all, I'm a headache~
Walk along the eastern route to the entrance of the automatic mountain escalator, and then take the 7-segment escalator to Tianmen Cave. With the C-line ticket we bought, we can take one escalator for free to the bus stop at the foot of the mountain, so we don't have to descend 999 steps. After returning to the city, we will take a car to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and wait for the next day's trip.
That night, I didn't let go of my injuries and went to the street clinic specifically. The doctor at the clinic gave me a bottle of iodine to apply and advised me to go to the hospital to prevent sawdust from entering my mind. It was best to take a picture. This trip was really nerve wracking. Later, when I returned to Shanghai after 6 days, I found that the wound was still painful and went to the hospital for a CT scan. Fortunately, it was just an external injury. However, the doctor said that I did a good job in disinfection, and it was not in vain that I had been climbing mountains for the past few days and sat down with a cotton swab to apply iodine to my head~
The scenery is very beautiful. When traveling, remember to pay attention to safety and be careful in everything!
