Furong Town
We arrived in Zhangjiajie at noon. Due to the rain that day, it was mostly cloudy and turned sunny on the third day. Xiao Gao suggested that we first go to Fenghuang Ancient City and take the provincial road to pass through Furong Town. Furong Town was originally called Wang Village, but became famous for the movie "Furong Town" and later changed its name to Furong Town. The town itself is relatively small, although it is a 4A scenic spot, there are not many tourists who come for self guided tours, and it has basically become a tourist attraction for tour groups. But this place actually has its own unique features and is still worth a visit.
Furong Town is surrounded by water on three sides, and the most unique thing is that this large waterfall passes through the town, making it look like a paradise. It is precisely for this reason that Furong Town is known as a "thousand year old ancient town hanging on a waterfall". This is the largest and most spectacular waterfall in western Hunan, cascading down from the cliff in two stages with a massive sound. When the water is high, the roar of the waterfall can be heard within a radius of ten miles.
Entering through the entrance of the scenic area, passing through the newly built square, seeing the waterfall, and then arriving at the ferry terminal on the banks of the Youshui River, I didn't even see the shadow of Furong Town. Climbing up from the well preserved Wuli Qingshan Street next to the dock, one can pass through the small town of Furong. Back then, this place was a fortress for water and land transportation, as well as a golden port for trade.
After the rain, strolling through the ancient town is the most flavorful. Walking on the wet bluestone board, this town with a history of more than two thousand years truly exudes the ancient and weathered meaning.
This scene is memorable, although I have watched 'Furong Town' several times, I only remember this one shot.
Located in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, this Yongshun Furong Town is known as one of the four famous towns in Xiangxi, along with Longshan Liye Town, Luxipu City Town, and Huayuan Chadong Town. It is also known as Youyang Xiong Town and "Little Nanjing". Huayuan Chadong Town is the small town in "Border Town", and if there is a chance, the other three towns should be visited.
The Tuwang Palace next to the waterfall is a newly built scenic spot in Furong Town. It is said that this is the place where the wealthy Tuwang chose to build a summer resort.
The winding and secluded streets and alleys here, the Tujia stilted wooden buildings nestled by the water, and the five mile long street paved with bluestone, all reflect the simple and ancient Tujia folk customs and traditions.
Fenghuang Ancient City
It's already dark when we arrived at the ancient city of Fenghuang. Thank you for Xiaoxiang's recommendation. We stayed in such a place with such a delicious taste, and when we opened the balcony door, we saw such a shocking scene. My friends and I couldn't help but be shocked
The room is located by the Tuojiang River, only 120 yuan, no need to go out, sitting on a lounge chair on the balcony, with a view from morning till night, which can only be described in two words - very perfect.
When I arrived in Fenghuang Ancient Town, I first solved my stomach hunger and found the most popular local food restaurant, which specializes in firewood cuisine. It is also the only unique food restaurant in Fenghuang Ancient Town, and it is quite delicious. When I was making a guide, I saw a lot and only thought that this restaurant was special. The first night arrived and I couldn't wait to arrange it. It was really comfortable, delicious, not expensive, and the environment was also very good. The restaurant was very friendly. It was the only restaurant that satisfied Fenghuang Ancient Town and the only recommendation!
I have said many times that when you go to places like ancient cities, towns, and villages, you must stay for one night, otherwise it will be in vain. Because only in the morning and at night can these places truly calm down and return to their original appearance.
Walking on the streets of the ancient city at night, everything gradually quieted down, even the rows of shops on both sides seemed less commercial.
The Rainbow Bridge of Phoenix, also known as the Wind and Rain Tower, lies across the Tuo River and is very famous. However, I don't like the two rows of shops inside. It has completely turned this wind and rain covered bridge, which has a history of over 600 years, into a water-based small commodity market.
The Wanming Pagoda on the north bank of the Tuojiang River in Fenghuang is also very famous. It may not be eye-catching during the day, but at night, it is exquisitely beautiful under the illumination of lights, like a young girl standing gracefully on the banks of the Tuojiang River.
Now, in addition to Hongqiao, four new landscape bridges of "wind, rain, snow, and fog" have been built upstream and downstream, making the night scenery here even more dazzling.
The Tiaotiao Rock on the Tuojiang River has weathered wind, rain, frost, snow, and the vicissitudes of life, yet remains sturdy and well preserved. It is now a major thoroughfare for people to travel on the Tuojiang River and a beautiful scenery in the ancient city of Fenghuang. Everyone can jump and walk here because the water is not deep, so you can take a swim along the way.
It's getting dark, and there are many little girls and old ladies selling river lanterns next to Jumping Rock. The river lantern is shaped like a lotus flower folded from red paper, with a red candle lit at the center. In the local area, setting up river lanterns is a lucky saying. Candlelight will illuminate the way home for the gods in the sky and help you fulfill your beautiful wishes.
It's already past twelve o'clock, and the main streets inside Fenghuang Ancient City are still brightly lit. The night lights here don't go out until two or three o'clock, and the bars are also open late. Friends who enjoy nightlife can play to their heart's content.
Fenghuang Ancient City
Although the ancient city can only truly calm down and return to its original appearance in the morning and at night, the night in Phoenix Ancient City is too splendid, like a heavily decorated social flower. Although beautiful, it has a strong makeup flavor. And the phoenix in the morning, like a seductive woman who has taken off her heavy makeup, finally returns to its fresh and beautiful appearance.
In the early morning of the Tuojiang River, a thin layer of mist rises above the water surface, washing away the noise of the previous night. At this moment, the ancient city appears particularly peaceful and serene.
Tuojiang River is the mother river of the ancient city Phoenix, flowing slowly along the city walls and nurturing the children of the ancient city for generations.
Boating on the Tuojiang River, boarding the Wupeng boat, listening to the boatman's call, and looking at the century old Tujia stilted houses on both sides, it has a unique charm.
Down the river, passing through Hongqiao, a painting of a Jiangnan water town is presented before my eyes.
The stilted houses by the Tuojiang River represent the soul of a regional ethnic group in the long river of history, recording the turbulent history.
Phoenix is famous for Shen Congwen's novel "Border Town", but the small town in "Border Town" is not Phoenix, but Chadong Town in Huayuan County. But no matter what, Shen Congwen is from Phoenix, and Phoenix is so beautiful.
The ancient and simple Tuojiang River flows quietly, and the ancient city of Fenghuang has gone through countless years. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but there are also outstanding people and places, and many famous talents have emerged.
On the south bank of the Tuojiang River is the ancient city wall of Fenghuang, where you can walk freely. The entire city wall is made of purple red sandstone, elegant yet majestic.
The city wall has two towers on the east and north sides, which have been weathered for a long time. Walking on the city wall, the Huizhou style buildings on both sides are layered and staggered, forming a beautiful picture.
Some people say that Fenghuang is the "most beautiful small town in China", but there has been no comparison before. After visiting Lijiang, I feel that although both are a bit overdeveloped, Fenghuang has surpassed Lijiang by at least a distance as long as the Tuojiang River.
During the day, the Phoenix Ancient City is crowded with people, especially noisy, but it has regained its commercialized side. Walking in the ancient city at this time, one's mood will also start to become restless. It's better to calm down and visit each historical site one by one.
Xiao Gao's suggestion was to take the highway from Fenghuang back to Zhangjiajie, but I had a recurring problem and wondered why we should take toll highways with provincial roads. So, I didn't listen to Xiao Gao's advice and decided to take the provincial road to Dehang Miao Village. The road turned out to be broken, and I could rank among the top five on the bumpy road I've walked.
It can also be considered a blessing in disguise. After going through countless hardships, when we arrived at Dehang Miao Village, there was an observation deck of the Aizhai Bridge on the roadside.
The Aizhai Bridge is over one kilometer long and is the world's largest cross canyon suspension bridge. Looking up, it is very spectacular.
You can take the highway from the provincial road to Dehang Miao Village. This Dehang Miao Village is purely a tourist attraction. Once again, I didn't listen to Xiao Gao because I thought it was quite famous here. Since I'm passing by, it's better to go and take a look.
The result was too disappointing. At first, it was okay. The surrounding mountains were quite spectacular, with a bit of Zhangjiajie feeling, but what about the Miao village?
Everyone, these houses and this parking lot in the picture are the so-called Miao villages. The 100 yuan ticket price is really a scam.
This is not a big deal, because after seeing the route map of the scenic area, there are three hiking routes here, namely, the Gangxia River, Jiulong River, and Yuquan River. The Gangxia River Grand Canyon has Leigong Cave, Yanzi Gorge, and Gangxia Waterfall Group; There is a waterfall called Liusha Waterfall in Jiulongxi Grand Canyon; Yuquan Creek Grand Canyon has Yuquan Gate and Wentian Terrace.
We definitely didn't have time to go all the way, so we chose the farthest Yuquan Creek Grand Canyon. Because the Wentian platform sounded amazing, we started climbing. There was no scenery on the road, and I felt like I had walked a long way without climbing. At the beginning of the climb, I finally saw a sign that read "Dehang Miao Village 1830 meters, 300 meters ahead of Tiantai". Just think about it, it's only 300 meters away, isn't it far? Isn't Tiantai not at the top of the mountain, but there isn't much scenery below?
As a result, we walked not only 300 meters, but also 3000 meters. We climbed up to the top of the mountain and finally arrived at the legendary Wentian platform. We thought we had read it wrong, but when we went back, we looked at the road sign again. Yes, it read "300 meters" crazily.
This is the scenery seen from the Wentian platform. If you have to climb back and forth at least eight kilometers of mountains to see it, I think it's not worth it. If this strength were left to Zhangjiajie, it's probably not even necessary to sit on the Hundred Dragon Sky Ladder.
It is said that Qu Yuan was framed by treacherous officials and exiled to the Yuanli area. He was intoxicated by the picturesque scenery of the Li River and constantly praised it in his poems. Later, Qu Yuan climbed onto the Wentian Terrace and wrote the famous "Tianwen". Qu Yuan posed 173 questions to heaven, earth, nature, society, history, and life in one breath, which is known as the "most extraordinary work of all time". And I just want to ask a question, does 300 meters refer to vertical height?
Coming out of Dehang Miao Village, you can take the expressway by driving over the Aizhai Panshan Highway. This winding mountain road is part of the Sichuan Hunan Highway, only six kilometers long, but it is not simple. In order to repair this road, more than 2000 people fought tirelessly for seven months, enduring wind and rain, resulting in over 200 deaths and countless minor injuries and disabilities.
In order to commemorate the achievements of the deceased, a bronze statue of the "Pioneer" was erected near the pedestrian bridge in the middle of the road to commemorate them. Later, the bronze statue was destroyed during the war. In 1987, the Hunan Provincial Government allocated funds to reshape the bronze statue according to its prototype and relocate it on a cliff above the Aizhai Overpass. There is a parking spot here, which is a good observation deck. If you are interested, you can go up and take a look.
The magnificent Aizhai Bridge cannot be fully captured without a panoramic view, spanning between two mountain peaks like a steel giant dragon. Unfortunately, taking the highway from here to Zhangjiajie has already crossed the bridge.
When I arrived in Zhangjiajie in the evening, I booked a special hotel to listen to Ya'anju before I went there. It was really good. The hotel was very clean, the environment was very good, and there was an elevator. It was two kilometers away from the scenic spot. There was a bus at the door, which was very convenient. The owner of the hotel was very friendly. He explained a lot of things we should pay attention to in the scenic area, and said he would help us book preferential tickets. But we were lucky to have someone help us get it done. I really appreciate the enthusiasm of the boss. It's great. It's really great for everyone to come to Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot and really live here!
【 D3 】 Jinbian Creek - Bailong Heavenly Ladder - Back Garden - Tiansheng Bridge - Wangqiao Abutment - Shentang Bay - Dianjiang Terrace
Jinbian Creek
The ticket for Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot Scenic Area is 248 yuan, which is really inexpensive. Now you can play for 4 days, and this fee includes the environmentally friendly transportation vehicles in the scenic area. You can ride them freely and wave your hand to stop. The entire scenic area includes six major scenic spots: Jinbianxi (Zhangjiajie National Forest Park), Huangshizhai, Tianzishan, Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, and Suoxiyu (Shili Gallery). In addition to these mature scenic spots, there are also many hidden scenic spots that have not been developed or are just starting to attract attention. Nowadays, the scenic area vigorously promotes Huangshizhai and Shili Gallery, actually to allow you to take the cableway of Huangshizhai and the small train of Shili Gallery, which are not included in the ticket. Of course, these two scenic spots can also be explored on foot. The Ten Mile Gallery has average scenery and a short distance, so there's no need to take a small train if you want to go. But Huangshizhai is very steep, and it's still very tiring to climb up without taking the cableway. There has always been a saying that goes, 'If you don't go to Huangshi Village, you're in vain for coming to Zhangjiajie.' Huangshi Village used to be a must visit mountain peak when visiting Zhangjiajie, but now many people have given up, not just because they don't want to spend money on cable cars, but because they can see the same mountain scenery in the backyard of the Yuan family and the Enchanting Platform (opposite Huangshi Village), which is a change of direction. Moreover, the scenery is even more beautiful from the Yuanjiajie side, and in terms of physical strength, there is no need to walk many mountain roads from the Yuanjiajie side. If you have time, you can also consider Huangshizhai as an alternative.
Zhangjiajie was discovered by the famous contemporary painter Wu Guanzhong. When he came to Xiangxi for sketching, he was introduced to it by the locals and found it very good. He came here to paint several sketches and wrote an essay called "Unknown to Those Raised in the boudoir". After its publication, it thundered like a thunderbolt, shaking the tourism industry and arousing the keen attention of all sectors of society. It generated a strong response, and many artists came here for it. After visiting, they praised the beauty of Zhangjiajie.
Zhangjiajie was only developed in the 1980s. After years of hard work, it gradually became a famous tourist destination and was also listed as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The famous Zhu Bajie carries his wife on his back. Zhu Bajie looks very similar, but this wife is too fat.
Jinbian Creek is known as one of the most beautiful canyons in the world. Originally, the creek water was clear and particularly beautiful, but unfortunately, due to the rain a few days ago, it caused flash floods. It is said that the creek water overflowed the path the day before we came, and the scenic area was closed. Therefore, although the water receded and the path was opened today, the creek water was a bit turbid.
But the Golden Whip Creek is still so beautiful, fully showcasing the scenery of Zhangjiajie. "For thousands of years, drought has been flowing, and for thousands of years, even rainwater has been green." Shen Congwen praised it as "the girl of Zhangjiajie," and Wu Guanzhong also praised it as "a fairy tale like world," truly deserving of its name.
A huge rock here cracked open from the middle, as if it had been split open, very peculiar, named 'Mountain Splitting to Save Mother'.
This is due to an ancient legend that a child named Chenxiang had his mother pinned down at the foot of the mountain for violating heavenly rules. Xiao Chenxiang practiced hard to save her mother, and eventually used a sharp axe to split open the mountain peak and rescue her.
The Golden Whip Creek runs through deep valleys, with thousands of peaks towering on both sides, reaching into the sky. The trees are lush and the shade covers the sun, creating a beautiful, serene, and natural ecological environment. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is the most beautiful canyon in the world.
This mountain is called Wenxing Stone. Some people say it looks like Lu Xun, others say it looks like Gorky. Take a closer look at the two moustaches and the outline of hair. It's almost the same as Lu Xun. This is the most similar natural stone statue I have ever seen.
It's rare to see so many monkeys in the scenic area all at once, and the monkeys here are much gentler than those on Mount Emei.
Although they may come up to grab food from tourists' plastic bags, they are generally quite shy, unlike the monkeys on Mount Emei, who are fat and strong, and have the appearance of bandits eyeing them.
The Hundred Dragon Sky Ladder
Walking to the Water Loop Four Gates on Jinbian Creek, you can take a transportation bus to the Bailong Sky Ladder. For 70 yuan, you can take this "world's tallest fully exposed outdoor sightseeing elevator, world's tallest double decker sightseeing elevator, and world's heaviest and fastest sightseeing elevator" to the top of the mountain, Yuan Jiajie.
Bailong Elevator, along with Germany's Fish Tank Elevator and the United States' Arch Elevator, has been listed as one of the world's top 11 creative elevators, making it the only elevator from China to make the list.
If you don't take the Hundred Dragon Sky Ladder, you have to climb up the chaotic slope from the Four Gates of Water Circle to reach the Yuan Family Realm. This name is too sophisticated. When there was no Hundred Dragon Ladder before, the chaotic slope was the only passage from the Golden Whip Creek to the Yuan Family Realm, and it took more than an hour for people with good physical strength to travel one way.
The Bailong Heavenly Elevator takes just over a minute to reach the top of the mountain. Although the scenery inside the elevator is beautiful, the time is short through the glass, which is not very satisfying. After getting off the elevator, there is a viewing platform next to it, where you can enjoy it slowly. This is the same area as the gathering of divine soldiers in the old house across the street, but the scenery is completely different. We plan to go to the gathering of divine soldiers tomorrow, and the photos of the Hundred Dragon Ladder above were taken there the next day.
[Back Garden]
Passing through the top of the flat slope, we once again arrived at the backyard of the Yuan family. Here, we could see three thousand unique peaks, majestic and wild, with different expressions.
In the depths of the canyon, thousands of stone peaks and pillars stand tall and majestic. The steep stones resemble the handsome generals of the British army, and the towering peaks resemble brave warriors.
With sound and color, as calm as movement, vivid and lifelike, ready to be heard. If it were autumn, would the scenery be better?
Unfortunately, the camera frame is too small to capture the beautiful scenery.
Yuanjiajie is backed by rocky peaks and faces secluded valleys and peaks, extending from east to west.
Yuanjiajie is adjacent to Jinbian Creek to the east, overlooking Yaozi Village in the distance, Huangshi Village to the south, connecting Tianbo Prefecture, Tianzi Mountain to the west, and Suoxi Valley to the north.
What you see here is the same area, but the scenery is slightly different with each step. There are many observation decks along the way, so you need to make choices, otherwise you will experience aesthetic fatigue.
The geological composition here is truly unique, with lush greenery at the bottom of the valley. It is said that many places are now rarely visited, and there should be a large number of wild animals.
Across from it is the famous Enchanting Tower, but the scenery feels similar and there is no past.
It would be great to have some rock climbing, bungee jumping, gliding, skydiving and other activities here. I heard that because of the beautiful scenery, many people come here to commit suicide.
South Sky Pillar
This place was originally called Nantian Yizhu, also known as Qiankun Zhu, a cool name, but now it has been changed to Hallelujah Mountain, which is too strange. Why don't Zhangjiajie City also be changed to Pandora City? This way, it will sound more coordinated.
The vertical height of Nantian Pillar is about 150 meters, with lush vegetation at the top and a unique peak shape. The vertical joints are clearly cut, and it stands tall in Zhangjiajie like a knife cutting axe, giving a feeling of towering and upright. Therefore, it is also called Qiankun Pillar.
In fact, this bridge is the best shooting spot for the South Sky Pillar, but the loudspeaker keeps broadcasting that it doesn't allow stopping, so it's important to prepare in advance and take steady, accurate, and sharp photos.
The bridge feels closer to the South Sky Pillar. Although the South Sky Pillar looks magnificent as a whole, it does not have the shock of floating in mid air as in the movie. However, it may be completely different when there is fog at the bottom of the mountain.
There is a landscape where the divine turtle questions the sky. At first, I thought it was the stone below that looks like a turtle shell. After reading many travelogues, everyone thought it was here.
The First Bridge in the World
Further ahead is the last and most important landmark of Yuanjiajie - the First Bridge in the World. This is one of the top ten scenic spots in Zhangjiajie and also one of the seven world firsts in Zhangjiajie.
The world's first bridge spans between two mountains, magnificent and spectacular. It is a masterpiece of nature. The bridge deck of the world's first bridge is 2 meters wide, 5 meters thick, with a span of 25 meters and a vertical height difference of 357 meters. It is the largest natural self generated stone slab bridge ever discovered in the world.
From the first bridge, you can reach the opposite mountain top. In order to build a sightseeing trail, the first bridge has been elevated several meters, and the landscape has been slightly damaged up close.
The First Bridge in the World, the Enchanting Platform, and the Back Garden are representative of Zhangjiajie's geological landscape, and are also viewing points for the Mist Sea, one of the four wonders of Zhangjiajie (sunrise, peak forest, winter snow, and mist sea). The fog here is elusive, appearing and disappearing at unknown times. The rolling clouds and mist, the mountains appearing and disappearing, unpredictable and unpredictable, make it difficult to distinguish between heaven and earth. Although this is a must visit destination for tour groups, it is still recommended to take a look. It is recommended to visit when there are few people. Another advantage of this place is that the slope is gentle and the physical exertion is not high, making it easy to play.
[Viewing Bridge Abutment]
Many people walk up to or cross the First Bridge in the world, thinking that they have finished watching it, but in fact, it is not over yet. There is also the best viewing spot of the First Bridge on the opposite mountain top - the Bridge Abutment.
It's actually very convenient to reach Wangjiatou. Take a scenic area environmental protection car towards Tianzishan, get off at the intersection of Wangjiatou, and walk a few more steps to get there. But because they find it troublesome, none of the tour guides will bring you here.
Looking at the world's first bridge in the distance, two straight and independent stone peaks intersect at only one point at the top, showcasing the magical power of nature's ghost axe technique.
The scenery here is absolutely stunning, as it is rarely visited by tourists and is completely different from those crowded attractions. You can take photos at will.
Shentang Bay
I stayed at the farmhouse I booked at Tianzishan for a while. It happened to be evening and I wasn't tired at all. Then I went to Shentangwan and Dianjiangtai to take a look.
Shentang Bay is very mysterious here, originally named "Shentang Village", which is a semi-circular deep valley full of mystery.
[Dian Dian Tai]
The scenery of Dianjiangtai is even more magical. In the deep valley shrouded in white mist, dozens of strange rocks are rugged, and the stone peak in the middle of the high place looks like an emperor wearing a crown.
After returning to Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot in the evening and playing for a whole day, I was very tired. I must reward my stomach. I can live up to anything, but I can't live up to my stomach. When I was making a strategy, I also saw that many people recommended a popular restaurant of a local time-honored brand. I decided to try it in the evening. It was just next to Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot Bus Station. The store was not very big, but the business was good, the environment was clean, and there was a free car. When we went there, the boss drove to pick it up. This service was very good. I ordered some special food in the store, and it was really delicious. I had to praise the level of the chef, and the price was not affordable. I went to Zhangjiajie A special food restaurant recommended!
Wulong Village
One important reason for living in Tianzishan is for the convenience of watching the sunrise, but unfortunately, these days are probably hanging in the balance.
But it's better if there's no sunrise, I'm lazy anyway.
I got up early and took an eco-friendly car to Wulong Village in Yangjiajie. When I was about to arrive, Xiaoxiang asked the driver to stop in advance. I was still confused, so I got off the car and looked in the direction of his finger. Wow, I suddenly woke up. There is actually a beautiful terraced field here.
Walking from the terraced fields to the parking lot of Yangjiajie is very close. From the parking lot to Wulong Village, one can only walk. Passing by this golden rooster announcing the dawn, it doesn't feel very vivid, possibly due to the angle.
There are many scenic spots along the way here, and the scenery is beautiful. The most interesting thing here is the three gates of hell: Carmen, who dares not bow their heads, and the valley of retreat. This is a hurdle, also known as a difficult step... Look at the picture yourself.
Finally arrived at the legendary Wulong Village. The newly built village was not very interesting, only with scenery for tourists to take photos and clothes for male and female bandits that needed to be rented.
Tianbo Mansion
Passing through the fortress of Wulong Village, it can also be said to be the fortress of Wulong Village. Across from it is the solitary stone of the towering mountains, which is the Tianbo Mansion. In fact, it should be said to be the observation deck of Tianbo Mansion.
He Long Park
Take an eco-friendly car to Helong Park in Tianzishan. There are many scenic spots in Tianzi Mountain, but we must control the timing of our visit. For example, last night we went to Shentang Bay and Dianjiang Terrace. Due to the backlight in the morning, we had to go in the afternoon, and this He Long Park is an excellent place to enjoy Zhangjiajie's peak forests. It was sunny in the morning and backlit in the afternoon.
There are several observation decks here, which are one of the four wonders of Zhangjiajie (sunrise, peak forest, winter snow, misty sea) and are the viewing points of the peak forest.
Jiangshan Beauty
After watching green for a long time, let's take a look at red to relieve everyone's aesthetic fatigue.
The attractions here are not over yet. Not far away is the towering Tianzi Pavilion on the mountain top. In the valleys on the east and west sides, there are also Zhangjiajie's signature attractions, Yubi Peak and Tiannu Scattered Flowers, collectively known as the beauty of the mountains and rivers.
This imperial painting peak has captivated photographers and painters with its famous scenery, and has been featured in over 30 art magazines and newspapers both domestically and internationally. Dozens of picturesque peaks rise up in the valley, soaring towards the blue sky from afar. The stone peaks on the right resemble inverted imperial pens, while those on the left resemble "mountains and rivers" that have put down their pens.
Grand View Platform
The subjective scenic spots of Daguantai are not far from the parking lot, but there are still many attractions inside, such as Xianren Bridge, Divine Chicken pecking, One Step Difficulty, Tianzi Seat, etc. It requires climbing a long mountain road and can almost be considered as an independent large scenic spot.
The Grand View Platform is different from other scenic spots and has its own characteristics. However, there are too many scenic spots in Wulingyuan National Scenic Spot Scenic Area. If time is not enough, it is really more than enough. This time there is still too little time, next time the weather is good, be sure to come and stay for a week.
【 Divine Weapon Gathering 】
The gathering of divine soldiers located in Laowuchang is a stunning attraction, but it is not within the scope of the developed scenic spots. There are no environmentally friendly cars available to reach it, and a private car is needed to go, but it is definitely worth the money. The flat gravel road here was built by local villagers with their own funds, and the road conditions are still good.
The aerial countryside is located next to the Tujia village in Laowuchang, with a deep valley below. The valley has cliffs that are hundreds of meters high, and at the top of the cliffs is a 3-hectare sloping terraced field.
The countryside is suspended on three sides, with peaks and verdant hills. If caught in the midst of clouds and mist, it becomes more like a magnificent landscape painting. If you climb onto the 'Sky Countryside', the gentle breeze brushes your sleeves, the clouds and mist envelop you, as if you are in a fairyland, giving you the feeling of green peaks chirping with emerald birds, high mountains ringing with flowing springs, and being in the countryside, like the feeling between colorful clouds.
There wasn't even the sun today, so we couldn't see the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie at dusk. So we went back to the inn to rest after five o'clock. Xiao Gao said there will be moderate rain at night, and tomorrow he may be lucky enough to see the misty sea. So when we were happy, we called a chicken.
[Back Garden]
It rained all night, and the rain made a crackling sound on the iron plates of the eaves. I was in a daze until morning, feeling like I had just fallen asleep when I was awakened by Xiao Gao. Breathing in the fresh morning air, I boarded the first scenic area environmental protection car and arrived at the backyard of Yuan Jiajie with great excitement.
Indeed, his character has exploded, it seems that being a rain god also has certain benefits. Xiaoxiang said that today's fog is not thick and it's not the best time to look, but I think it's already very beautiful.
Tianbo Mansion
While the fog was still lingering, I rushed to Tianbo Mansion to see the peak walls in the misty sea, which was also a rare sight.
After the rain, it was slippery and the road to Wulong Village was even more difficult to walk. I actually climbed Wulong Village twice this time. Although it was tiring, seeing the beautiful scenery of the foggy sea in Bofu that day still felt very valuable.
After the clouds and mist dissipated, the weather did not improve and visibility was a bit low. I watched everything I needed to see and decided to go down the mountain. The Tianzishan Cableway is currently being closed and expanded. I don't know when it will be opened, but from Tianzishan, you can take an eco-friendly car to reach the Tianzishan gate at the foot of the mountain. This is a newly opened route up the mountain, but many people don't know.
It's almost noon and there's still some light rain. Originally, Tianmen Mountain should have given up, but because I missed it last time, I really don't want to miss it again this time. With the hope of encountering a sea of clouds, I still went up Tianmen Mountain. Although the result was barely satisfactory, it was far from fully appreciating the magnificence of Tianmen Mountain.
The ticket price for Tianmen Mountain is 258 yuan, which is quite high, but it includes the cableway up the mountain (the world's first), the through mountain elevator inside (the world's first), and the electric scooter down the mountain (the treacherous Tongtian Avenue). Therefore, the high ticket price is still worth it.
The Tianmen Mountain Cableway starts from the city garden in the center of Zhangjiajie and goes directly to the original sky garden at the top of Tianmen Mountain. It is built very long and passes through most of the urban area of Zhangjiajie, basically replacing the transportation in the city.
This Tianmen Mountain cableway is seven and a half kilometers long, ranking first in the world. It takes about half an hour to walk one way, and the section near the top of Tianmen Mountain rises almost vertically. It is extremely thrilling on sunny days, but unfortunately there was fog when we arrived.
The Ghost Valley boardwalk on Tianmen Mountain hangs on the steep cliffs above the Ghost Valley Cave. If you can see below, the scenery is beautiful and terrifying. Although the foggy weather seems like a fairyland, it has lost a lot of fun.
Standing on the boardwalk overlooking the mountains, this is the true feeling of "reaching the summit and overlooking the small mountains". When the weather is bad, it's even more important to try your luck. Sometimes when you reach a place, you can just see the thick fog dissipate, and before taking a few photos, the fog rises from the valley again.
Sitting end to end, like a slow and endless mountain elevator, descending from the tunnel all the way down to halfway up the mountain, the magnificent scenery of Tianmen Cave suddenly appeared before my eyes.
This section of the sky ladder is a 999 level journey to ascend and pray for blessings. It's a must climb on a sunny day. I stood on it and looked down, and my legs were already weak. We won't climb down from here because of the rain. There is a mountain elevator that continues down from the tunnel next to it, but this section is not included in the ticket and requires self payment.
You can see such a spectacular scenery from halfway up the mountain, it's easy to imagine how beautiful the scenery of Tianmen Mountain would be when the weather is good. Unfortunately, the visibility is too low, and the scenery visible to the naked eye is much more beautiful than what is captured by a camera.
This Tongtian Avenue, built along the mountain terrain, has exactly 99 bends, which embodies the meaning of "the sky has nine layers, and the clouds have nine skies". The Tongtian Avenue starts from the landmark gate when entering the mountain and continues to the foot of Tianmen Cave.
Throughout history, both emperors, generals, and ordinary people have regarded Tianmen Cave as a spiritual place for praying and making wishes. And Tianmen Cave, like a silent poem, carries the dreams of countless people and gives infinite imagination.
Around 5 pm, I came down from Tianmen Mountain and decided to leave Zhangjiajie and take the highway back to my hometown in Changsha.
Beautiful Zhangjiajie, don't be so mischievous. I will come to see you again next year.
