I usually travel alone, but this time I took my cousin with me.

Preparations before departure:

The most important thing for free travel is to plan your own itinerary and book air tickets, hotels, and tickets to attractions. For free travel, you usually go to different attractions every day and stay in different hotels at night. There is no bus from a tour group for you to put your luggage, so a trolley box is not considered, just a backpack, and the items should be as simple as possible. Don't bring anything you don't bring.

I booked a flight at 8:30 on Friday evening, went straight to the airport after work, and met with my cousin at the airport. The plane arrived in Zhangjiajie at ten o'clock and took a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is located outside the gate of Tianmenshan Cableway Station. You can walk to the mountain by taking the cableway early the next morning. It is a very painful thing to queue up by cableway during the tourist season, and it often takes several hours. So usually if I have a cableway trip, I will choose to live near the cableway station and catch the first wave of cableway up the mountain.

After getting off the cableway, I found that the top of the mountain was white and like a fairyland.

It rained at the foot of the mountain, and fog was steaming on the mountain. No one was seen five meters away. Not to mention the picturesque scenery, where nothing could be seen...

There are many middle-aged and elderly tourist groups in Zhangjiajie, and few people travel freely. All the places in the scenic area where cableways and elevators can be built have been built to allow tourists to walk less to the greatest extent. There are very few tourists in places where cableways are not accessible and elevators are not accessible.

After visiting the scenic spots on the mountain, take the escalator through the mountain and go down Tianmen Cave.

During a short stay in Tianmen Cave and admiring the scenery, I heard many tour guides talk about the death of a girl flying in a wingsuit in Tianmen Mountain in May this year. Most of the audience criticized the girl for not cherishing her life.

In fact, the tolerance of this world is really very small. As long as a person chooses and pursues different things from most people, he/she is an alien.

People pursue the length of life more than they seem to care about the width of life.

The pursuit of material matters is regarded as the right political direction, and the pursuit of spiritual satisfaction is regarded as not doing proper work.

If life is compared to a dream, then the girl who was killed in a wingsuit flight had a short dream. Most people in this world have had a long nightmare and suffered from the suffering of the world.

There are a total of 999 steps down the mountain from Tianmen Cave. We walk down the mountain. If we can't walk, we can choose to take the elevator.

After going down the steps, walk another smooth road and take the fast cableway down the mountain.

The next day's trip was in Wulingyuan, so we went to the bus station immediately after we got off the mountain. The latest bus is at six o'clock, and it takes an hour to get there.

When we arrived at Wulingyuan, we first found a place to eat. Of course, try the local specialty Tujia Sanxia pot.

Nowadays, each family has different practices and different ingredients. The one we ate put pig's head meat, pig ears, fat sausage, potatoes, onions, and other ingredients. The taste is salty and spicy. After eating, add a handful of oily and wheat vegetables and stir fry them. It is also a combination of meat and vegetables.

I ordered a portion of stir-fried dried leeks, but I couldn't see the leeks when I saw the dried leeks. My cousin joked that this is using leeks as onions. haha.

The taste is excellent, the color, aroma and flavor are complete. Even if Hunan cuisine is not outstanding, it will not go wrong.

After dinner, I went to the hotel. I booked a B & B. My cousin praised all the hotels I booked for this trip.

After traveling alone for so many years, I have some experience in how to book a hotel.

If you need to carpool during your trip, stay at Youth Youth Hostel and it is easy to find friends with you. If not, stay in a local specialty B & B. If you need to catch an early flight or train, stay at an express hotel near the airport station. Personally, I feel that Jinjiang Inn is the most cost-effective.

When booking a hotel, first look at the year of decoration. Within five years, more than one year is better. Houses decorated too old will easily smell musty, and those decorated too new will have formaldehyde. Then there is to look at the reviews. Some stores will ask people to review them well, so you can't just read a certain travel app. After identifying a certain hotel, you can basically know the real accommodation situation of the store by comparing more than two apps and ignoring the few favorable reviews.

I rested in the hotel for a while and went out for a walk. They were too full for dinner and couldn't eat anything else, so each person ordered a cup of dessert. A cup of red bean and taro round ice, and a cup of roasted grass. They all did very well. The sweetness is just right, and the milky taste is silky. This store is called "Pig Skull".

My original plan was to visit Forest Park on September 13th and bungee jumping in the Grand Canyon on September 14th. I asked the young lady at the front desk and said that bungee jumping was not open yet and would not be held until after October 1st. Then we can only change the plan and change the one-day trip to Forest Park to two days.

Forest Park is a very large scenic spot with many attractions. Tickets for it are valid for four days and you can enter and exit repeatedly. Friends with plenty of time suggest playing for three days.

The B & B we stayed in had an open-air restaurant with a great environment, overlooking the distant mountains and hazy rain.

Day 1: Check in from the sign gate of the scenic spot and enter the park, take an eco-friendly car to Tiantian Station, take the Bailong Tiantian to Yuanjiajie (additional tickets are required for the Bailong Tiantian), walk to visit Yuanjiajie, and take an eco-friendly car to Tianqiao Station. Take an eco-friendly car to Tianzi Mountain Parking Lot and visit Tianzi Mountain on foot. Follow the mountain road down the mountain (two-hour walk, optional cableway down the mountain).

Day 2: Check in from the sign gate of the scenic spot and enter the park, take an eco-friendly car to Shili Gallery, and visit Shili Gallery on foot (optional sightseeing train). Return to Shili Gallery Station, take an eco-friendly car to Shuiwaosimen, and walk to Jinbian River. Return to Shuilao Simen Station and take a bus back to the scenic spot sign gate. Tour ends.

Seeing the three words "Wulingyuan", I couldn't help but think of Tao Yuanming's sentence,"Wuling people fishing for their profession." Is this the Peach Blossom Land written by Tao Gong?

As the saying goes: If you don't reach Wulingyuan, you will go to Zhangjiajie in vain. The Yuanjiajie Scenic Area is the essence of Wulingyuan. So our first stop was straight to the Yuanjiajie.

After descending the Hundred Dragons Stairway and walking a few steps, you will reach the Yuan Family Realm. The main attractions in Yuanjiajie are: the back garden, the magic platform, the pillar of heaven and earth and the first bridge in the world.

Ecstasy Terrace is the best natural viewing platform in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Standing on the viewing platform, you can overlook the grotesque peaks and valleys. The day we arrived was still foggy and white. The nearby peaks can only be said to be vaguely visible, but nothing can be seen in the distant peaks.

A tourist group passed by me. I only heard tour guides and tourists say: The mountains in Zhangjiajie are three-part scenery and seven-part imagination. Today we all rely on our imagination. The garbage cans in the scenic area are very distinctive. They are woven of bamboo. From some angles, they look like a pair of grandparents wearing coils.

During the tour, I took out maps from time to time to check the route, so many people came to ask for directions. My cousin said: I finally understand why you can go to so many places alone. You are simply a walking compass, and your sense of direction is terrible. Okay...

Although the fog is full of fog and the visibility is poor, as long as you have enough patience and wait on the observation deck, a strong wind blows, you can blow away a lot of the fog. The true appearance of the nearby mountain peak can be seen.

As the saying goes: When you return from the five mountains, you don't look at the mountains; when you return from Huangshan, you don't look at the mountains. Personally, I think it's a bit exaggerated. The mountains of Zhangjiajie combine the beauty of Guilin and the wonder of Huangshan.

For the tourists accompanying the group, they really didn't see anything because the tour guide had to rush to catch the attractions. Each attraction itself is a quick visit, and it is impossible to wait for the wind and fog to dissipate.

It is a natural stone bridge formed between two mountains. The two mountains were originally integrated, and the bridge body is the key part connecting the two mountains. Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area is still foggy. After waiting for a long time on the observation deck, I finally caught a glimpse of Yubi Peak.

At the entrance of Tianzi Pavilion, I met a tour guide telling the group members about the local customs and customs of Xiangxi. It was very interesting to talk about crying for marriage, chasing corpses, celebrating the New Year, etc. However, most of the team members were not very interested, and no one answered the interactive questions raised by the tour guide. Everyone was just busy taking photos, so the tour guide could only ask themselves and answer them. My cousin and I passed by and immediately transformed into super fans, making the little sister smile.

After touring Tianzi Mountain, we chose to take the mountain road down the mountain, which lasted for two hours. Friends with poor physical strength still recommend taking a cableway down the mountain. On the way down the mountain, only two little brothers were encountered on foot, and most tourists chose cableway down the mountain.

This mountain road is basically abandoned, and the stone road is covered with moss. The road is very slippery and tests your feet.

On the way, I encountered a group of monkeys, no less than 200. I had seen how fierce the monkeys in Mount Emei were, so I was scared. He rushed back all the way to find the two little brothers who had left behind for help. Several people walked through the monkeys together in fear.

I am a person who likes small animals very much, but I hate monkeys. I hate the cleverness in their eyes, like humans.

Of course, I went down the mountain to have a big meal. After walking all day, I was so hungry.

Xiangxi fried bacon is a must-try.

I used Ctrip points to redeem my room type upgrade, but the hotel was full and there was no way to upgrade it for me, so I gave fruit as a gift and was quite happy.

Continue going up the mountain the next day. Tickets are valid for four days. You can simply swipe your ID card and enter the park directly.

The first stop is Shili Gallery.

Shili Gallery, as the name suggests. The corridor is about five kilometers long and has lush forests on both sides. The strange peaks and rocks are in all kinds of shapes, like huge mountain and water scrolls, hanging side by side on the cliffs of thousands of feet, integrating the beautiful natural wonders into the ink and painting.

At the entrance of the gallery, a tour guide was leading a group of tourists to look at the mountain opposite. The tour guide asked the tourists what the mountain looked like. I glanced at it and shouted: It looks like an eagle. A group of people turned around and looked at me with puzzled eyes. My cousin immediately pulled me away: Sister, you are so ashamed. After walking a few steps, I heard the tour guide behind me introduce: This mountain peak is called the Eagle Spreading Wings. Hahaha ~~~

Along the way, I encountered many tourist groups. The tour guide introduced everyone to what this mountain looked like and what that mountain looked like. I told my cousin, let's not listen to him, let's use our imagination, and what we think is like is what it is. Let's take turns, each person will tell one story, and give each mountain peak a four-character name. So, we found the roar of a giant crocodile, the god dog of Erlang, the boy of wealth, the Buddha preaching scriptures, etc.

Tourists who were unwilling to walk took the small train, but what could you see while sitting on the small train? Those lifelike peaks can't be seen if you change the angle slightly. After going back, people asked: Is Zhangjiajie beautiful? Was it fun? You said: It's not interesting, it's just a reputation. This kind of tour method and this kind of evaluation are unfair to any attraction.

There are wild monkeys and captive monkeys in the Shili Gallery. Many tourists were feeding the captive monkeys. The cousin suddenly lamented: Look, monkeys that have lost their freedom have ready-made food. I asked back: If you want to choose, which one would you choose? My cousin said: Of course it is freedom.

Looking at the imprisoned monkeys, everyone knows the value of freedom. However, how many of the people in it are bound without knowing it?

Get out of Shili Gallery and take a bus to Jinbian Creek.

The Jinbian River twists and turns, the flowing water is gurgling and crystal clear. I have always believed that the color of water has a lot to do with light. It was rainy when we went, and the scenery was greatly reduced.

After swimming in Jinbianxi, this trip to Zhangjiajie will be over.

After going down the mountain, I took a bus to Yongding District, lived near the airport, and flew back to Nanjing at 9:45 a.m. on the 15th.

I usually like to drink tea, so I bought some specialties from Zhangjiajie. Berry tea and eucommia male flowers.

Berry tea is slightly bitter in the mouth and tastes a bit like bitter diced. Take a sip of berry tea, and take a sip of clear water to return to sweetness.

The male flowers of Euonymum have a lot of pollen, so the tea brewed is not clear enough.

There was a slight setback on the way to the airport. We couldn't get a cab and were in a hurry to build a road near the hotel, so we took a motorcycle. Just after turning two intersections, I found that the driver was driving in the wrong direction, in the opposite direction to the airport. Because I also stayed in this hotel on the night I came here, I remembered the way. I asked the driver if we were going to the airport and if you were going the wrong way. The driver said he had heard wrongly and thought we were going to a technical school. As for whether he really misheard it, or did it on purpose. I let it go because the driver later corrected the route in time and we caught the plane on time. So when I am away from home, taking the bus is my first choice, and then using taxi software to take a taxi. It was the first time I sat on it and the last time. You can't take a taxi and don't take it. My cousin later said that she felt scared when she thought about it. Being ripped off for some money was a small matter. If she really went around, she would miss the plane because it was already 8:30.

What can travel change? Nothing can change. At best, it just converts the pictures in the book into real scenery. Therefore, many people say that if there is anything to see, it is better to look at pictures and watch TV. But during the journey, you will see the colors reflected by the sun shining on the water droplets, hear the singing of the cuckoo lark, feel the dense fog and cold wind in the mountain streams, and discover how amazing nature is and how small humans are. Only then can we understand that the happiness we pursue in our poor lives is not in the past or the future, but in the present. This life is what we talked about in our previous life, the next life.
