Autumn is getting stronger and the fragrance of osmanthus is fragrant. This stop of my island trip is to Shengsi Islands in Zhoushan, Zhejiang.
Climbing and looking far away, the sea and sky are in the same color, the water falls and the tide is flat, and everything returns to its roots. Autumn in Shengsi Islands is vast and far-reaching. This time is the time when the northern wild geese return to the south.
The left bank is blue, the right bank is fireworks, and the setting sun dyes the sea and sky crimson, and also reflects the travelers 'cheeks.
This trip to Shengsi is regarded as an in-depth island trip. I will divide it into two travel notes to introduce the beautiful scenery, food, and beautiful accommodation of Shengsi tourism.
The first travel notes mainly focus on Shengsi Island, Sijiao Island.
[About the itinerary of Sijiao Island]
DAY1 departs from Shanghai Shenjiawan Wharf in the morning, takes a ferry to Sijiao Island, stays at Zuoan Island B & B on the island, rents an electric motorcycle after lunch and rides along the island road to enjoy the beautiful sea view of the Five Terre Villages in the East China Sea.
Day 2 walks through Liujingtan and Heshangtao scenic spots in the morning, returns to B & B for dinner at noon, and takes photos of the local seafood market in the afternoon to watch a beautiful sunset on the sea.
[About preparations before departure]
1. When traveling on Shengsi Island, it is recommended that everyone should conscientiously do a good job in protecting sun and mosquitoes before setting off, and bring sunscreen and sunglasses. It is best to choose 50 times sun protection. If you go out with motion sickness, remember to bring carsickness medicine, as well as cool oil to prevent mosquito bites. Band-Aid cold medicine is also a must-have. Mosquitoes are quite serious on the island, and we must do a good job in preventing mosquitoes. From my personal experience, I didn't do a good job in preventing mosquitoes. I bit more than 20 bags on my legs, and I will still itch after three days when I go home.
2. Regarding the purchase of ferry tickets for island travel, you can purchase them at 7 o'clock in the morning three days in advance on the local official public account. Because ferry tickets are relatively tight most of the time, it is recommended that everyone must buy tickets before traveling.
3. Must-check attractions on Sijiao Island on Shengsi Island: Left Bank Highway, Sea View of Five Fishing Villages in the East China Sea, Liujingtan, Shangshantao Scenic Area, local seafood market, and watching a sunset. The delicacy on the tip of your tongue must be all kinds of seafood: swimming crabs, yellow croakers, pomfret, etc.
4. On the way to travel, remember to wear clothes with beautiful colors. It will have a better concave shape when taking photos. The seaside is especially suitable for long skirts.
5. The must-bring photo equipment, camera, mobile phone tripod, will add color to your travel travels. I have brought DJI drone, Sony A7R2 and an Apple XR mobile phone here. There is also a must-have power charging treasure.
1 Ride around the island and stay in a B & B with a view of the sea
Taking advantage of the perfect autumn sunshine, I set off for the Shengsi Islands to find the story of Shengsi left on the sea. At the Shenjiawan Wharf in Shanghai, when I was riding a ferry and cutting the waves in the East China Sea and setting out for the Shengsi Islands, the legend about the fairy mountains on the sea has aroused my infinite curiosity.
Shengsi Islands are located in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province. They are the only national-level archipelago scenic spot in the country. They have the original ecological tourism characteristics of "Bihai Qijiao, Jinsha Fishing Fire". Traveling on the island and coming to Shengsi Islands, you will encounter too many stories and surprises.
On the first stop of my trip to Shengsi, I first came to the largest island among all the islands and the most convenient transportation island of Shengsi: Sijiao Mountain. It covers an area of 21.2 square kilometers and is rich in tourist resources. On the first day of arrival, my friends and I decided to rent an electric motorcycle first and ride around the island to deeply experience the freedom and comfort of island travel.
Rent an electric car, ride along the island against the sea breeze, and stop when you encounter a favorite scenery. This kind of comfortable and comfortable way is what I like. There are rows of small colorful houses and large tracts of flowers on the island. This way of traveling is something many people will like.
On the way to travel, we can encounter surprises everywhere, as long as we are good at discovering. When you are tired from riding along the seaside road, you can walk into the sand art warehouse on the roadside. The simple and atmospheric decoration is somewhat literary and bourgeois under the blue sky and white clouds.
A cup of coffee, a quiet time on the sea, and outside the glass window, watching the ships coming and going on at sea is a pleasure.
Sijiao Mountain is the main island of Shengsi Islands. The colorful small houses are full of dreamy colors, which makes me very curious. In the beginning, what kind of wandering did the fishermen here experience before coming to this small island? The entire island runs east-west, covering an area of 21.35 square kilometers, shaped like a horse floating in the sea with its head held high. The hills and ridges on the island are connected, but the slope is gentle and it is very livable.
Along the way, there are many places suitable for viewing the scenery. With the sea breeze blowing, you can overlook the rows of small fishermen 'houses and the winding island roads. You can see the scenery at a glance.
According to data research, Sijiao Mountain was developed early. In the Neolithic Era, some ancestors settled down, relied on the sea to eat the sea, and made a living by fishing. When we came back by riding, we saw fishermen busy darning fishing nets for the next time. Make adequate preparations for going out to sea.
Shengsi Island, the breeze, the sea, and me. There is the wind on my shoulders, and there is the sparkling light under the wind. I came to Shengsi Islands and stayed in a B & B by the sea. The B & B has a nice name, called Zuoan Island
The endless swimming pool is facing the fairytale left bank road. When you open the window, you can see the rough sea. I suddenly want to live in seclusion here. We love the sea and ourselves among nature. Come on, come with pleasure, return with pleasure, be at ease, be open-minded, and live up to it.
The simple and bright Chinese decoration of Zuoanyu B & B is a style I like. When chatting with the boss, I found that Shengsi is really a place with a story. The boss is from Hangzhou. He used to be a teacher in a university. Because he longed for freedom, he brought his family together to the island and opened this B & B he likes to do things himself. Cooking for guests every day is his favorite thing. Hearing praise from guests, he will feel a sense of accomplishment. Even going to the seafood market to buy food. They are all hand-picked by themselves, and they will also cook different dishes according to the tastes of guests from different places. It's really considerate.
I think that everyone who likes island travel is a person who yearn for freedom. The correct way to open island travel is to let us ride a scooter and blow the sea breeze to find and discover those favorite scenery ourselves. The night is fading, live in a favorite B & B, and sleep with the sound of the waves.
2 Liujingtan and Heshangtao Scenic Area
In the vast waters of the Zhoushan Islands, there are countless magical islands scattered. There are more than 400 islands in the Shengsi Islands alone. Island-hopping tourism has become one of the most popular tourist methods for many travel enthusiasts. Traveling in Shengsi, you can ride a scooter along the coastal road, or you can get in deep contact with the sea and experience the magnificent island scenery.
1 Liujingtan Scenic Area
Liujingtan Scenic Area is located at the easternmost end of Sijiao Island. It forms a peninsula and has beautiful scenery. In ancient times, it was also called the "end of the land", which means the end of the land. It is the place closest to the East China Sea and is inconvenient for the ancient people who have inconvenient transportation. This place was already very far away, probably at the end of the land.
The most landmark building in Liujingtan is a white lighthouse. It is particularly fresh against the blue sea and blue sky. This is the best viewing point to view the sea. The scenery is different all year round, but each has its own beauty. In spring, the mist, the blue sea in summer, and the waves in autumn. With the change of climate, the weather will be completely new in one day.
For tourists who grow up in the north, they can have close contact with the sea. Even if they don't do anything, they still feel beautiful quietly leaning on the railing and looking into the distance. Slowly down the newly built wooden road, they will reach the closer observation platform, with cliffs at their feet, the sound of tide in their ears, the sea changes in all directions, and fishing boats sail freely on the sea.
Looking down from the sky on the reef, the Liujing Lighthouse is still clearly visible. According to local people, all fishing boats entering and leaving the Si Reef need to sail on the shore of Liujing. The lighthouse guides the direction for fishing boats returning from afar.
Looking quietly against the fence and listening to the waves beating against the rocks, making beautiful sounds, Liujingtan Scenic Area faces the East China Sea and is an excellent place to watch the sunrise. If you have enough time, you might as well feel the romance of the sunrise on the sea in the early morning.
2 Shangshantao Scenic Area
Shengsi is a place with stories. It is not far from Liujingtan. We came to the Heshang Tao Scenic Area. The name of the scenic area was very strange at first. Don't you know the origin of the name, but it has a story. It is said that when Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty crossed Japan eastward and passed through Shengsi Sea, the accompanying young monk Xuan Neng accidentally fell into the sea and was trapped here for thirty years. Later, the villagers named this place monk set in memory of him.
The Heshang Tao Scenic Area has a broad view and you can walk along the wooden plank road by the sea. You can see a magnificent sea view with a single photo. The wooden plank road is about a thousand meters long. In the beautiful scenery in the middle, some small observation platforms are also built.
There is a magnificent sea at our feet and an endless blue in front of us. The Heshang Tao Scenic Area has rich tourist landscapes such as Heshang Stone, Chaoyang Pavilion, Haijiao Tea House, and Buxu Terrace, waiting for us to slowly find and feel.
Standing on the boardwalk and overlooking, you can see the seaside reefs lined with strange rocks, the sea breeze blowing in your face is warm and refreshing, and seabirds are gliding across the sea briskly and flying away quickly. The picture in front of you is warm and beautiful.
With the sea facing the wind, the scenery in front of you is vast and far-reaching, and the stormy waves beat the shore. This scene can only be described as Cao Cao's observation of the sea. It is facing Jieshi to the east to view the sea. The water is calm, and the mountains and islands are surrounded by the mountains and islands, the sea is surging, and the middle of the sea is lined up, standing tall, and the sea and sky are in the same color, making people feel open-minded.
3 Seafood market, fireworks life
The beautiful Shengsi Islands are a poem and distance that many people yearn for. The islands stand tall here, with reefs and rocks. There is no severe cold in winter or heat in summer. It has a strong island style and is rich in seafood varieties, attracting tourists from all over the world. Come to Shengsi Island, eating a fresh seafood feast is a very enjoyable thing.
If you want to learn about the most authentic island life, visit the local seafood market. Fresh crabs cost 15 kilograms per pound, and the price of pomfret caught that day ranges from 15 to 40 kilograms. What makes me most curious is a kind of snail called bergamot, which is picked up one by one by local fishermen from the reef. The larger ones cost 400 kilograms per pound, which is very nutritious.
No matter where I travel, I always like to go to the vegetable market often visited by locals. Shuttling through the bustling crowd and looking at the dazzling array of vegetables and seafood, I feel a very stable feeling. I always feel that this place hides the most colorful nature of life. During this trip to Shengsi, I specially found a sunny afternoon to come to the island's largest seafood market. As soon as I walked in, I was attracted by the spectacular seafood in front of me.
The seafood market is located at No. 15 Jinghai Road. It is the largest seafood farmers 'market in the area. Fresh seafood is sold on the first floor, and all kinds of dried seafood and packaged seafood are on the second floor. It was afternoon when I came, and I saw people buying seafood. There is still an endless stream. The seafood here is caught that day. It is not only fresh but also diverse. All kinds of seasonal seafood are particularly popular.
Strolling around the seafood market, you will find that the most common ones are yellow croakers, U fish and swimming crabs. Shengsi is surrounded by the sea and is very rich in seafood with a wide variety of varieties. Small yellow croakers, hairtail, pomfret, shrimp, etc. are the main products of Shengsi. Huanglong shrimps, holly orange shells, and sanfan jellyfish skin are well-known across the country. Basically, all the stalls here have fishing boats at home. My fishing boats go out to sea and come back from fishing and then send them to the seafood market for sale, so they are all very fresh.
I probably asked a few stalls and learned that the fresh swimming crabs here are basically 15 pounds per kilogram. The price of pomfret caught that day ranges from 15 to 40 pounds per kilogram. What makes me most curious is a kind of snails called bergamot. They are picked up one by one by local fishermen from the reef. The larger ones cost 400 pounds per kilogram, and the smaller ones cost more than 100 pounds per kilogram. They are very nutritious.
Why is the price of bergamot so expensive? There are many reasons why this kind of snails are difficult to dig. They are mainly distributed in high-tide areas along the coast where waves are heavily impacted. They are fixed in rock crevices with clear seawater and are often densely packed in groups. The handle is stretchable and contracts into the stone gap when it is touched. It is not easy to dig, and large ones are even more difficult to meet.
Looking at the fresh yellow croaker, you know that it will be delicious when cooked. I heard from locals that most of the Shengsi Aquatic Products Market in the past extended from the port to the street. It was very inconvenient to sell in the blue sky and blue sea. Only then did we have the indoor market we see today. Such concentrated sales greatly facilitate the local people.
Relying on the mountains and the sea, seafood vendors have to arrange the freshest seafood according to their quality when they first open the door. Squid, pentube fish, Spanish mackerel, big and small yellow flowers, shrimp and conch, bird shells, and swimming crabs, so it was very hard. Seeing a big sister in front of the seafood stall taking a nap while there were few people, I felt a little distressed.
Most of the people who come to the seafood market are local people. Our B & B owner comes every day to buy the freshest seafood. If tourists from other places want to buy their own seafood, they can take it back and have it processed by the B & B, or It's also a great pleasure to do it yourself.
The second floor of the seafood market sells dry goods. The freshly roasted ones are particularly delicious, 60 per pound. I think this price should be the price that can only be bought in Shengsi. Anyway, we have everything we can think of here.
The trip to Shengsi is my most enjoyable trip to eat seafood. The joy of the collision of different delicacies and different ingredients can only be remembered for a long time if you encounter the most suitable cooking method. My favorite Shengsi on the outlying island is the taste of seafood. The taste of swimming crabs.
4 Base Lake Beach, Beautiful Sunset
In September, when my small town has lost autumn, the south is still warm and warm, and you can still catch the tail of summer. Take a ferry from Shanghai Shenjiawan Wharf to Shengsi and start a blue journey amidst the clouds.
Jihu Beach is a pure natural beach. The sand is soft and the sea water is pure. People are running towards the sea with their bare feet and playing happily. A group of people are playing volleyball on the beach and are not happy.
Shengsi is a magical place. This fairyland island in the vast sea not only has vast and primitive island scenery, but also has a very long ancient history. According to records in "Records of the Historian" and "Shuijing Notes", in ancient times, Shengsi was an island land among the Southern Barbarians and Eastern Barbarians. It was not until modern times that it was known more and more.
Shengsi Islands are composed of 404 islands of large and small. The islands stand tall, the reefs are dotted with rocks, and the natural scenery is charming. Among them, 16 are inhabited. It takes a cruise from Shanghai Shenjiawan Wharf to reach Shengsi's largest island, Shengsi Island, also known as Sijiao Island. It takes a little more than an hour.
Sijiao Island is the largest among more than 400 islands, with an area of 25.88 square kilometers and a coastline of 57.47 kilometers. Shengsi Islands Scenic Area integrates marine culture and island folk customs. There are many scenic spots on Shengsi Island that are worth playing, which is worth checking in slowly.
1 Jihu Beach
The sea breeze is gentle, blowing up the brightly colored flower skirts, which also makes the mood as relaxed as a blue sky and a bird. On the beach of Jihu Lake, people who like the sea take photos in various ways to express their love for the sea.
People's state in nature is always the most relaxed. Jihu Beach is the largest natural beach beach in Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province. It has a total length of 2200 meters, a width of more than 200 meters, and an area of about 500,000 square meters. The beach of Jihu is integrated into oasis, sandy beach and bay. The golden sand is fine and clean, the slope is flat, the sea is rippling, and the trees are shaded.
Looking from a distance, happy people are enjoying the fun of island travel. The vast sea area and sunny weather make everything beautiful in front of them. The base lake can accommodate more than tens of thousands of people to play in the blue waves and bathe in the sun. It is the largest beach in East China, known as the "Southern Beidaihe". Friends who have been to Beidaihe in Qinhuangdao can compare them. It has successfully held the first National Navigation Sports Competition and the National Beach Volleyball Championship, and has become one of the most popular seaside tourist destinations in East China.
The sea breeze in September will feel a little cool when it blows on your body. This is the most appropriate time to come to the beach to play. Even at noon, it doesn't feel particularly exposed. People run into the sea with their bare feet and feel the feeling of being kissed by the waves.
The two teams playing volleyball on the beach were full of interest and had a great time. They liked the feeling very much. Even while on the road, we could relax at any time and enjoy the joy brought by sports.
The blue and white houses on the beach of Kihu are very suitable for taking small and fresh photos. The palm trees make a beautiful sound under the wind. This feeling is like a fairy tale world.
2 Li Chaxian Highway Sunset
At sunset, I drove along the Li Chai Line Highway. The sea breeze was blowing gently, quiet and beautiful. Sitting on the reef, I listened to the blue sea and whispered softly. The sky gradually turned into a beautiful crimson color. The sunset dyed the clouds and the sea with a rose-like color. A fishing vessel slowly passed by, the picture was warm and my heart was full of emotion.
Traveling on an island, if I can watch a sunrise and sunset, I always feel that such a trip is not wasted. The light and shadow of nature change, forming a magnificent and beautiful sea view on the blue sea. At such a moment, even if I am alone, I feel very beautiful.
The most beautiful scenery is on the road. In Shengsi, you can stop at any roadside to find the scenery. The perennial sea breeze and waves make the topography of the seaside very strange. The erosion of the seawater has carved the rocks into dangerous peaks and jagged rocks. Together with the rising and falling tides, soaring waves, and flying seabirds form the unique island scenery, which makes people linger for a long time and can't bear to leave.
In everyone's mind, the definition of travel is different. A perfect sunset doesn't care how far you have traveled, or whether you want to completely record the entire sunset process. A quiet appreciation is not a good way to travel.
A fishing boat is sailing away calmly from my camera. It must have been used to watching the rising and setting of the sun and the moon here. Beauty is also an expression. I traveled thousands of miles across the ocean to encounter such a beautiful sunset. Anyway, I think of Shengsi in September someday, and I will always think of this sunset and the peace in my heart when I silently watched the sunset.
